The SEM manager will be a key member of the events marketing team with strong focus on lead generation, through organic search and paid channels within short time spans. She / He will have strong technical knowledge (site audit, HTML), coordinating and executing inbound marketing strategies, competitor analysis, keyword research, internal and external link building, assessing paid campaigns, strong analytics knowledge, SEO copywriting and on-page optimization, as well as driving the overall organic and paid strategy for our events. The right candidate will be pragmatic and analytical, with the ability to advise on technical and non-technical improvements to generate leads in various channels to all event websites and online community portals. There is room to grow a team.

WBR is currently recruiting a Search Specialist to carry out our SEO and PPC strategy and generate web traffic and leads. The position is focused on managing Search Marketing activities and develop further strategies to achieve the company’s goals. You will count with a team of marketers and an SEO Intern to support with your day to day activities and to ensure our Search Marketing and Digital Marketing strategies are aligned.

Our Search Marketing Manager will be responsible for working across websites selling conferences on a range of countries (UK, Germany, Singapore, Japan, Switzerland and others), therefore having an understanding of multilingual sites will be an important part of the role going forward.

You will be responsible for:

  • Generating leads with short term strategies
  • Day to day delivery and management of on-going SEO activities
  • Auditing and analysis of websites – identifying areas for optimisation
  • Implementing on-site changes to websites
  • Providing technical SEO recommendations and implementing suggestions
  • Preparing and delivering detailed strategy reports and ensuring key decisions are backed by evidence
  • Forecasting and reporting on KPIs and metrics
  • Keyword research – Analysis and review of keywords for multiple websites – Identifying the most profitable keywords for on-page, off-page in order to generate leads
  • Managing SEO and PPC agencies to ensure projects are effectively implemented and kept within budget
  • Creating and over-seeing the creation of SEO content
  • Ensure Digital Marketing Strategy is integrated with Search Marketing (SEO and PPC)
  • Proactively keeping on top of current search engine guidelines, updates and making recommendation to the Marketing Director as to how these will impact current activities
  • Coaching, training the team on best practice and working together to grow leads in short time spans
  • Advising the marketing team on the actions they need to fulfil in order to maximise lead generation through organic and paid media
  • Setting KPI’s for each website (traffic > conversion > revenue) and ensuring that we are track to hit these

Essential skills and requirements:

  • Solid SEO experience
  • Strong lead generation in different channels
  • Thorough understanding of White-Hat on-site and off-site SEO techniques
  • Strong SEO & PPC forecasting, analytics and reporting skills
  • Multilingual search experience (ideal, but not a perquisite)
  • Use and understanding of CMS systems
  • The ability to organise, prioritise and meet deadlines is crucial
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Hands on experience devising, improving and implementing PPC programmes
  • Understanding of conversion rate analysis
  • Analytics packages (Google Analytics)
  • Experience working with SEO tools (SEOmoz, Majestic, Google Webmaster tools)
  • Good understanding of social media and its integration with search programmes
  • Project management skills (work across around 5 Search Marketing projects at one given time)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently and to tight deadlines
