Job Purpose 

Working as a Senior Accountant reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for developing tax strategy, mitigating tax risk through planning, reporting and control, financial accounting and management accounting activities.  This person will assist the Financial Controller by ensuring we are tax compliant the balance sheet is maintained and that accounting information is reported timely and accurately.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Primary person responsible to maintain the foreign and domestic sales tax accounts reporting reconciliation and submission
  • Develop plans, processes and controls around all tax liabilities for current and proposed markets
  • Internal audit of sales and purchase agreements/contracts
  • Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts
  • Support the Financial Controller with the monthly and annual financial planning processes as per the planning timetables
  • Support Credit Control with answering client onboarding compliance questions
  • Support sales team and business with tax treatment.
  • Assist in the production of statutory accounts under FRS 102 and applicable UK law
  • UK Corporation Tax reporting and submission
  • Deferred tax calculations, capital allowance tracking and business entertaining reporting
  • Monthly management accounts as per the month end timetable and management reporting
  • Assist in the Accountant’s or Financial Controller’s absence
  • Produce reports for Office National Statistics
  • Ad-hoc queries

Desired Attributes/Behaviours

  • Qualified accountant with 1/2 years PQE (ACA, ACCA, CTA)
