Senior Event Manager (maternity cover)

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Event Management you will be solely responsible for the logistics of WBR’s medium-large sized events allocated to you – approximately 7 per year.

Responsibilities

 

  • Main point of contact for all clients/speakers, providing an exceptionally high level of customer service
  • Consistent management of event forecasts, actualises venue and supplier bills.
  • Makes intelligent investment decisions – creative approach to onsite themes and networking functions.
  • Negotiates with suppliers
  • Venue contracting
  • Management of 1 junior members of the team
  • Makes catering arrangements
  • Coordinates implementation of mobile app
  • Signage and programme design
  • Sourcing branded items – signage, gifts, lanyards, sponsored items etc.
  • Collection of speaker presentations
  • Creation of bespoke sponsorship inventory
  • AV contracting
  • Exudes excellent time management & multitasking skills
  • Exhibition floor plan: design, layout and allocation
  • Exhibition contractor liaison (shell schemes, etc)
  • Creation of exhibition guide
  • Managing WBR team onsite
  • Running registration desk
  • Displays broad focus of their events.
  • Stage Management
  • Venue searches for gala dinners, cocktail parties
  • Pre-event correspondence with attendees, speakers and sponsors
  • Booking staff travel and accommodation
  • Responsible for  managing WBR’s medium – large events (500+ delegates)
  • Innovation – generating ‘wow factor’ ideas
  • Coordination and management of pre-event meetings with event team
  • Attends weekly event meetings
  • Actively motivates team pre-event & onsite.
  • Frequent attendance at external large expos and networking events
  • Adding value to all WBR’s blockbuster events
  • Help create initial forecasts when necessary
  • Help mentor new starters/junior team members
  • Working on special projects
  • Actively suggesting improvements to current processes
