We have a fantastic vacancy for an Event Manager – a great opportunity to become part of a dynamic, industry leading events company. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Event Management you will be solely responsible for the logistics of WBR’s medium sized events and Connect events allocated to you – approximately 7/8 per year.
The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated, ambitious, commercially focused, and team-oriented professional to join our high-energy, creative operations team.
Responsibilities
- Pre-event correspondence with delegates, speakers and sponsors
- Managing outgoing expenditure and submitting accurate forecasts
- Negotiating, liaising and managing relationships with event venues and suppliers
- Creating and designing event collateral, signage and exhibition floor plans
- Sourcing branded items – gifts, lanyards, sponsorship inventory etc
- Managing dinners, cocktail receptions and bespoke networking events
- Organising staff travel and accommodation
- Managing onsite event teams and event registration
- Managing partnering system of Connect events
- Accurately managing rooming lists and dinner lists for Connect events
- Providing an exceptionally high level of customer service in all interactions and exceeding clients’ expectation
Qualities and Characteristics:
- Ability to use initiative, multi-task under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to establish sustainable and profitable relationships with customers, suppliers & clients
- Good at working with and motivating colleagues on an individual and team level
- Proficient at cost management and forecasting
Attributes/Behaviours
- Experience in the coordination of b2b events for at least 200 people
- Experience in managing exhibitions
- Good Excel/Word/PowerPoint skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent time management skills
